Every spring since 1997, sculptors and potters from Buderim’s Craft Cottage have staged their ‘Sculptured Garden’ exhibition.
It started as a little showing by a handful of artists interested in making art for gardens. Where better than Buderim for such a venture? What else to call it but ‘The Sculptured Garden?
The Sculptured Garden Exhibition 2022, Dates, Buderim Craft Cottage
Starting on October 9th and running until the 17th, this year’s exhibition at the Cottage’s Atrium Gallery will include over 150 individually crafted works from 30 artists.
Hand-built sculptures designed for outdoor display still feature prominently, but the sculptors are now joined by talented potters who create wheel-thrown porcelain and stoneware vessels.
Along with planters, vessels large and small, and wall art, expect to see a very diverse range of sculptural work, figurative and abstract, traditional and contemporary, humorous and severe – along with Japanese inspired raku-fired pieces.
As in past years, the exhibition’s second weekend will coincide with the Buderim Garden Festival, another favourite on Buderim’s busy calendar of arts and cultural events.
The Cottage “cafe” will serve refreshments on weekend days of the exhibition. Parking is available right next door to the Cottage (enter parking area from Church St).
