Cooroy Mountain Spring Festival

The Cooroy Mountain Spring Festival is a popular event that allows you to climb Cooroy Mountain while enjoying a wide range of family-friendly activities, all while helping raise funds for charity and local disability support.

The mountain is 438 metres high, and the trek up and the summit delights visitors with breathtaking views of the Sunshine Coast.

It takes about an hour to get to the top on a rocky track, which is why closed trekking footwear is mandatory. Other things you may want to take with you for comfort and safety include water, sunscreen, and a hat. Once you reach the top, you’ll find a rocky slab around a hundred metres from the summit, where you can get the best views.

Visitors who prefer more relaxing exercise can take a rainforest walk, where you can stroll and stop any time you wish. You can also do many other activities during the festival, such as going on a helicopter ride, sampling the food and drink from various vendors, or just chilling out while savouring live music and entertainment. An observation trail has been designed to include youngsters and other fun activities for kids.

Sunshine Butterflies is the primary beneficiary of the Cooroy Mountain Spring Festival, though other causes and charities may be included and changed up yearly. Sunshine Butterflies is a charity focused on providing disability support for those with disabilities on the Sunshine Coast. Since its inception in 2010, they have become one of the most prominent organisations. They have many recreational and educational programs for people with disabilities and their families.

The Cooroy Mountain Spring Festival is a once-in-a-year event that you won’t want to miss.
