Sunshine Coast Mountains

The Sunshine Coast mountains are some of the most beautiful and majestic in the world.

There are quite a few to choose from that will surely fill your holiday with a dose of excitement and adventure.

Sunshine Coast Mountains, Hinterland, Map, Ranges, Climb, Hike, Qld

A visit here would not be complete without a visit to the Glass House Mountains Lookout. The viewpoint is designed to invite visitors over with breathtaking views of the mountains as well as the land and peaks in Caloundra, Maroochydore, Brisbane, and Moreton Island. It’s equipped with wide-open spaces, wheelchair access, picnic tables, and barbecues. The observation tower is a must-visit as this is where you will get better views as you learn about local history.

Mount Tibrogargan is an iconic peak, and one of the most recognisable among the Sunshine Coast Mountains. Its jagged peak resembles a woman carrying her baby as she looks over her shoulder. It’s the third-highest in the Glass House Mountains, and a fantastic destination for rock climbing, bushwalking, and trad climbing. However, Mount Tibrogargan is a sacred site for the Aboriginal peoples so it’s best to use the western route to summit the mountain instead of its historic route.

Mount Ngungun is the 6th highest peak in the Glass House Mountains, is another popular destination for climbing. This mountain is suitable for easy climbs including for visitors with no bushwalking experience. Start your journey by visiting the Glass House Mountains Visitor and Interpretative Centre so that you can get all the useful information you need for a fun, successful hike.

If you’re looking for a more challenging hike in the area, check out Mount Beerburrum. Its steep incline makes it a favourite among seasoned bushwalkers, but it’s definitely worth it for the incredible views and lush greenery.

These and the other Sunshine Coast mountains have so much in store for adventure lovers.
