The stunning coastal areas are a famous recreation area, especially among visitors who love outdoor activities such as beach camping, swimming, and water sports.

The recreation area has basic camping amenities such as cold water on tap, compost-style toilets, a roving store selling camping goods, trash bins, wheelchair access, and 2WD access. Drinking water can be obtained at Clarkson Drive within Rainbow Beach; bring along your own refillable containers.

If you are travelling to Inskip Point with the kids, take them over to Tin Can Bay, where they can safely swim during the high tide. Kayaking in knee-deep but tranquil waters is a beautiful activity all family members can partake in here too.

On Rainbow Beach, visitors can go on bushwalks, check out the attractions such as the coloured sands and the sand blow. Horse-riding activities are available.

The coastal campsites of the peninsula will ensure you have one of the most scenic camp trips ever. The site is surrounded by cypress pine, beach she-oaks, and other gorgeous coastal trees, while you have views of the open sea and wide sandy beaches to take advantage of. Visitors who want to camp should also remember that permits are required and should be bought before you set up camp.

After exploring the point, check out Fraser Island. This heritage-listed destination features 123 kilometres of unspoilt sand, and it also happens to be the biggest sand island in the world. It is home to a range of fantastic terrains, from the rainforest that grows on the sand to freshwater dune lakes and dunes.

Inskip Point and Fraser Island are dream destinations in Queensland – be sure to add them to your itinerary!
