Whilst visiting the Sunshine Coast, take a tour to the famous Queensland Air Museum to see its unique collection and the special event known as Engines Alive.
During this unique event, you will be able to hear the power of the many historic planes here as they power up some of their most treasured museum pieces.

The museum’s aircraft collection is made up of a large variety of aircraft types that represent many aspects of aviation including: military aircraft from the RAAF, RAN, Australian Army and RAF, passenger aircraft from Ansett Airlines, Queensland Airlines and Airlines of Tasmania. There are also a range of agricultural aircraft, training aircraft and helicopters.
During Engines Alive, you will be able to hear the engines running at 11am, 12.30pm and 2pm. Hear the sounds of a 1500 horsepower 14 cylinder radial engine powering up amongst many other amazing air craft. There will also be a sausage sizzle and cold drinks for sale.
The museum collection also has many displays which delve into the rich aviation history of Australia. There are a number of exhibits on display including: Charles Kingsford Smith, Women in Aviation, Pathfinder Force, Korean War, Vietnam War, British Pacific Commonwealth Airlines, Ansett Airlines, Qantas Airways, Calair, The Flight Data Recorder and the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
