Mountain Creek is a town located between Buderim and Kawana Waters on the Sunshine Coast.

It’s named after a creek that drains the Buderim southern slopes and ends up into the Mooloolah River right above Cod Hole.

The best way to explore the area is by going on the 3.9km long circuit, suitable for walkers and mountain bikers. The loop is of easy grade and will introduce you to various environments – from forest trails to wetlands and Creekside. Some of flora and fauna you’ll encounter include bottle brush, black butt, rainbow lorikeets, blue wrens, swamp wallabies, lace monitor lizards, and bush turkeys.

Since the Mountain Creek circuit is shaped like a figure 8, it’s highly recommended for those visiting with kids. It enables you to get the kids active and do part of the trail, or even all if your kids are older. The rest stops allow you to enjoy the scenery at your own pace. There is also a gorgeous park located off Parklea Esplanade, where you can also leave your car.

After your visit, spend a day or more exploring what the rest of the area has to offer. Buderim Village is a terrific shopping destination, as it’s home to numerous fashion shops, souvenir outlets, second-hand stores, and so much more that sell a massive range of gifts, clothes, thrifted items, and the list goes on!

If you aren’t interested in shopping, you can always check out Buderim’s many natural attractions such as the Buderim Forest, the waterfall, Foote Sanctuary, Lions Park, the historic Tramway tracks, Wirreanda Park, and much more. Other attractions in the town include the Buderim Theatre, Atrium Gallery, and the Buderim Craft Cottage. Several exciting festivals and events take place throughout the year.

Mountain Creek and its many wonderful attractions will be hard not to fall in love with. Make sure you check out the range of accommodation options nearby, including some holiday houses, bed and breakfasts, cottages and retreats.
