Marcoola

Marcoola is a beautiful coastal town on the Sunshine Coast, located between Maroochydore and Coolum. Its name is a combination of the first synonyms of both towns.

Being an hour and a half away from Brisbane, it has many scenic sights to explore and has become a popular residential area.

There is a high quality of life here, with the town tending to attract young and outdoorsy people who love being near the sea. It’s a small town, and over time, everyone knows each other. Everyone is friendly, and it’s particularly fantastic for kids to stay here because of the access to numerous parks and kid-friendly activities.

Marcoola is famous for having some of the most stunning beaches on the Sunshine Coast. Best of all, they’re less crowded compared to those found in Coolum and Mooloolaba. Most tourists flock to the resorts located along David Low Way, but it’s easy to get to the beach within a few minutes from virtually any point here. The beaches also have terrific surf breaks, scenic bike paths, clean sand, and a relaxing atmosphere.

Visitors can also start their holiday right from here because the Sunshine Coast Airport is conveniently a short drive from town. Whether you’re looking for some tranquil R&R, laid back surf mornings, grass parklands for picnics and BBQs, or checking out the food scene, there’s something in town for everyone to love.

From here, you can always hop on over to Maroochydore for more activities and sightseeing. With hundreds of shops, restaurants, and cafes to choose from, you’ll love discovering new tastes and textures. The main beach is a popular getaway, from where you can enjoy some fishing, paddleboarding, kayaking, surfing, and swimming. The best place to go to let your kids swim is Cotton Tree, which is located by the mouth of the Maroochy River.

With all the delightful things to do and see, your family will have an unforgettable time at Marcoola. Make sure you check out the range of accommodation choices within the town, including a wide range of holiday houses, motels, resorts, hotels, and apartments.
