The swimming hole is located right beside the Wappa Dam, an area that is suitable for the whole family to visit. Be sure to stop by the stunning Jack Harrison Park, referred to as Wappa Park by the locals. There are lots of open green spaces, and it’s equipped with a playground, picnic tables, lawns, and parking areas where visitors can relax under the sun and lounge. It’s lovely during autumn because this is when the park comes alive with the vibrant colour of red maples leaves.

Wappa Falls is easily accessible with a quick walk from the car park. The swimming hole has become a popular location for cliff jumping among adventurous visitors. However, the jumps are around 6 metres high, so it’s best suited for experienced jumpers. Visit and swim with caution, as the waters here can get quite turbulent, and it can also become challenging to see the rocks underneath the waters. Diving is prohibited, and swimming in the river can be dangerous.

Afterwards, head over to Cooloolabin Dam, which is nearby. Cooloolabin Dam has several incredible walks that you can explore, and the area is also more tranquil than the falls. It’s another great area for a picnic, though be wary of snakes always around, especially in the warm months. Once your day is over, make your way to Yandina to treat yourself to coffee or even fine dining.

Wappa Falls and the surrounding areas are a must-visit for adventure enthusiasts.
