The beach features surf breaks, though it’s best for surfing when there are moderate swells during high tide. A boat can also take you to a great left point which is found on Mudjimba Island. Be wary because the beach is potentially hazardous for swimming due to notorious currents and rips. The only safe spot to swim in is on Marcoola Beach because it’s patrolled. However, the Coolum and Twin Waters resorts also have lifeguards on duty.

Twin Waters Beach has some great fishing in the many rip gutters. For more experienced anglers, head over to Point Arkwright and the river mouth, famed for good rock fishing. Overall, this area is a wonderful place to spend a few days, especially if you enjoy water sports and the outdoors.
