Red Beach

Red Beach is a scenic stretch of dog-friendly beach in Bribie Island.

There are hardly any amenities here, just the wild stretches of sand and water peppered with vine-covered dunes.

Many consider this to be one of the best dog-friendly beaches in the region, as your four-legged friends have 8 kilometres of beach all to themselves. In addition, it’s one of the few beaches in Queensland that allow dogs to swim with the surf, which is why so many owners of adventurous dogs love taking them here.

The beach joins into Woody Bay a few kilometres down, the off-leash dog section of Woorim Beach, making it an excellent destination for long dog walks except during high tide.

Red Beach is also popular among families who love to visit for a beach picnic. It’s got some of the most picturesque sunset views, so be sure to come in the late afternoon to watch the sun go down. The water is almost always flat, too, making it a safe choice for those who have kids. If you get lucky, you could even spot dolphins frolicking not far from the shore. It tends to get busy on the weekends, so you may want to plan your trip around the weekdays.

There are several tourist attractions near the beach that are undoubtedly worth checking out. One is the Bribie Island Butterfly House, a volunteer-run destination that seeks to educate the community about butterflies. Visitors can come to learn about butterflies or enjoy the sense of peace that this tranquil place provides – it’s hard not to feel relaxed when here!

The Bribie Island RSL Club is close by too. It serves as an elegant venue for weddings and events, though it’s best known for the terrific food served on site. It’s home to several dining outlets, including the Social Café and Botanic Dining.

Red Beach and its surrounding attractions have everything you need for a great day.
