Hinterland BMX Track

The Hinterland BMX Track is a well-maintained track right by the Mooloolah Valley Country Club.

If you are looking for a great place to practice BMX riding in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, this is your go-to destination. It’s open for the public to use when the local BMX club is not using it for training, racing, or work.

Hinterland BMX Track, Address Location & Club Events, Glenview QLD

Races occur every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month except for school holidays, while coaching sessions and gates occur on Monday nights.

The Hinterland BMX Track was conceptualised by riders who found an enthusiastic group in the community who could benefit from a track. Though it took almost two years to find the ideal location, they eventually found one and constructed it. Today, it’s one of the best in the Sunshine Coast, with state-of-the-art infrastructure and lighting. It was also the recipient of a community grant for more upgrades.

BMX riding has long been a popular sport among the community’s youth. The Sunshine Coast BMX Club was established in 1988, and they already have almost 100 members. They ride throughout the year and hold races during Wednesday evenings. Races are fascinating to watch as eight riders compete on the track, scoring based on finishing positions. However, riders below the age of 8 are encouraged to enjoy the sport instead of participating in a competition.

There are also volunteer positions available if you’re interested in spending time learning about BMX and meeting new people around the Hinterland BMX Track. A maximum of 18 volunteers is needed to operate club races, while monthly rosters distribute the load among all members. Parents also have a chance to watch their kids’ races.

For all your BMX biking needs in the area, the Hinterland BMX Track is the place to go!
