Bongaree Jetty

Bongaree Jetty is a top attraction in Bongaree Beach. Located just a short drive away from the bridge once you get to Bribie Island, the jetty is the main highlight of the area.

Visitors frequent this part of the beach for fun BBQs, picnics at the park or on the beach, enjoy swimming in the shallow waters or enjoying a refreshing ice cream.

From the jetty, you can already jump straight into the water for a nice swim to cool down or take off on a boat for some fishing. The warmer months provide the perfect weather for spending time with friends and family past sunset and drinking a few cold ones.

Narrow beaches flank Bongaree Jetty on each of its sides. Kids love to play in the sandy area next to the jetty since it’s got more room for playing in the sand. Back on the shore, the grassy park is spacious enough to lay out picnic mats or chill out at the picnic tables while cooking your own food. If you’d rather not cook, you can always take away from the cafes and shops that are just within walking distance. From fish and chips to burgers, these establishments have something for all cravings.

Another popular attraction here is the Bribie Island Seaside Museum, located on the southern end of the jetty. Here, you can learn all about the island’s fascinating history in a well-decorated museum with splendid views of Moreton Bay and Pumicestone Passage. Some museum highlights include a collection of preserved fish, replicas of World War II bunkers, a variety of temporary exhibits that change throughout the year, film showings, and much more.

For a relaxing seaside escape along with scenic views and history, Bongaree Jetty is highly recommended.
