Sippy Downs is a popular residential township located just south of Buderim and Tanawha and is easily accessible from Mooloolaba.

Sippy Downs is most well known for being home to the Mooloolah River National Park and Australia’s newest university, the Sunshine Coast UniversitySunshine Coast.

The Mooloolah River National Park is only a few minutes drive from the Sunshine Coast, which makes it a convenient location to visit on your next stay on the coast. This park is divided into two zones: the Mooloolah River Section and the Jowarra Section. Both areas are known for protecting the coastal rainforests in this area which face the danger of extinction.

There is a lot to see and do in this wonderful park, including bushwalking, canoeing up the Mooloolah River or cycling along the edge of the park. There are short walking tracks in the Jowarra section and some fire management trails that can be used as tracks in the Mooloolah section.

Another beautiful garden in Sippy Downs is the Maroochy Bushland Botanic Gardens. This breathtaking garden boasts a year-round green setting with a picture-perfect backdrop of the lake and lush flowering plants. Picnicking is also a popular activity here as well as canoeing on the still water lake.

Take a short drive to Mooloolaba and visit SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast Aquarium. This fun attraction is home to thousands of marine animals, including; sharks, seals, turtles, stingrays, otters, sawfish, tropical fish, and many more. SEA LIFE Aquarium has so many things for you to see and do, so make sure to plan a day at this fun attraction.
