Cooroy is home to the Butter Factory Arts Centre, a community centre operated by the local council that hosts exhibitions, workshops, and a range of events. The venue is a converted old butter factory that was built in 1930. The butter factory closed in 1975 and was purchased by Noosa Council for use as a community centre in 1991. With new exhibitions opening every four to six weeks, the Butter Factory also regularly features solo exhibitions and curated group exhibitions.

Head down to Eumundi for the famous Eumundi Market, a premier artisan market held twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays, rain hail or shine. The Eumundi Market is one of the most popular and markets in and around the Noosa region. With over 200 stalls, you will find a range of goods, including artworks, sculptures, furniture, handmade toys, homewares and skincare, as well as fashion and jewellery created by local designers.

A few kilometres away from the Cooroy is Lake Macdonald, a body of water created after the construction of the Noosa Shire Dam in 1965. Boating, fishing, and canoeing are favourite recreational activities in the lake area.

There is a sprawling 8 hectare botanical garden with native plants nearby and a Greek-style amphitheatre that serves as a venue for outdoor opera and other events. Around 40 species of birds make their home in the gardens, and a few animals use it as a feeding ground. Each year, the Noosa Festival of Water transforms the botanical gardens with musical performances and day-long activities.
