The beach has also become a haven for surfers who want to enjoy uncrowded waves. There’s a terrific swell all year round, thanks to the offshore winds. Lifeguards patrol the beach throughout the summer months, as well as on school holidays. With all the spacious sandy areas to relax in, you won’t want to miss spending at least an afternoon here. There are some basic facilities such as beach showers, which you can find at beach access points 247-252.

Wurtulla Beach can get windy during the afternoons, though it’s excellent all day long, depending on the conditions you’re after. Sunsets are pretty lovely here too. If you’re taking the kids along, there are more facilities and a playground at Dorothy Anderson Park Beach, which is nearby. In addition, you can also take your dogs off-leash in the areas from Wurtulla to Currimundi Creek and Moondara Drive.

Nearby, Kawana Waters also offers a wide range of activities for visitors. It’s home to one of the region’s top sports and entertainment districts, including the Lake Kawana Community Centre and Stockland Park. Both of these venues host major events throughout the year.

Meanwhile, the stunning Lake Kawana is the perfect place to enjoy hours of water sports, including kayaking, outrigging, and canoeing. Its foreshore is equipped with bicycle and walking tracks that are suitable for light exercise or simply relaxing.

For all your shopping needs, there’s no better place to go than Kawana Shoppingworld. It’s popular for its sheer size, boasting of being one of the largest malls in Queensland. This is where you can shop in over a hundred retail outlets – all in air-conditioning too!

Wurtulla Beach and the many nearby attractions have got you covered for your next family outing. Make sure you check out the range of accommodation choices nearby, including several hotels, holiday houses, resorts, villas and retreats.
