It’s great for watersports, so it’s a common sight to see lots of jet skis, stand up paddleboards, and fishing going on. During the low tide, the beach is safe enough for kids to swim in though wearing aqua socks or protective water shoes are recommended. The water is of a comfortable temperature all year round too!

Sylvan Beach also features shady trees, which provide a lovely spot for picnics. The lawn on the foreshore has additional tables where families can gather for a fun outing by the sea. Occasionally, a floating café will pass by, which is a truly delightful way to enjoy ice cream, cold drinks, and coffee. Many visitors also frequent the area as part of their cycling or walking route to take in the scenery with their exercise.

The beach is close to many of Bribie Island’s other attractions. Check out Pirate Park nearby, which is a lovely park that is always kept clean. It features a playground, tables, sitting area, benches, covered areas beneath the trees, toilets, and disability access. Pirate Park is a popular place for families to take the kids to burn off their energy for a couple of hours. From here, kids can also jump into the sea to cool off in the Pumicestone Passage. Enjoy a BBQ and the fresh breeze!

Another fabulous outdoor space nearby is Crest Park, which is filled with amenities that active visitors will appreciate. Crest Park has beach access and is equipped with a basketball court, shelter, seats, play equipment, electric BBQs, and a water fountain.

Sylvan Beach and the nearby attractions on Bribie Island are a delightful choice for a family outing.
