The park was named after the Pike family of Kawana, of whom Benny Pike is the most famous. He was a renowned Australian boxer who represented Australia during the 1980 Moscow Olympics and many other international bouts. Geoff, Benny’s father, also happens to be the first to build a house in Kawana back in 1966. This is why the area holds a lot of significance for the Pike family.

Pike Park was originally Kunda Park, which was owned and developed by the Pike family. It features some kids’ play equipment as well as a running path, making it a terrific choice for people who want to spend time outdoors. Given its proximity to Kawana Beach, visitors can hop on over to the sandy area and go on a dip. Kawana Beach is one of the longest coastlines in the Sunshine Coast and is famous for its beautiful golden sand and world-class surfing.

Other activities you can do in Kawana Beach include beach fishing, rock fishing, and swimming – with bodyboarding popular. There are lots to do on the beach, and at the day’s end, you can take a walk to Point Cartwright Lighthouse, which offers a beautiful viewing spot for the sunset.

Point Cartwright has its gems, too, such as rock pools popular with the kids and a beach where you can take your dogs off-leash.

Pike Park is a scenic, historical park by the beach in Warana, and the area is filled with lots of fun activities to enjoy with the family.
