Kawana Beach

Kawana Beach is a beautiful stretch of unspoilt beach on the Sunshine Coast. At 9 kilometres long, it’s also one of the longest beaches in the region.

It’s popular for surfing, swimming, and water activities – loved by families from near and far.

The beach is famous for its terrific surf breaks, but it also has a patrolled area where swimmers of all ages can unwind. Off Point Cartwright, on the northern portion of the beach, there is an excellent area for rock fishing and beach fishing. Just behind Port Cartwright are elegant high-rise apartments, which continue all the way south but are peppered with holiday houses and estates holiday houses and estates that were built as far back as the 1970s.

Kawana Beach has long been a favourite of holidaymakers, especially those from Brisbane, considering it’s less than an hour away. But Kawana as a town itself offers visitors so much more to do than just the beach.

The tranquil canals are best explored via outrigger, kayak, or canoe. If you have never surfed before, this is an excellent opportunity to take up some swimming lessons.

When the water sports hasn’t tired you out, explore the myriad of shops and cafes. A trip to Kawana is not complete without indulging in the fantastic dining scene. No matter what it is you’re craving for at the moment, you’ll be sure to find it.

Kawana’s culinary scene is something to write home about, from pub-style dining to al-fresco, lake-side, and modern feeds. Oh, and if you love craft beer, this charming seaside town is quickly becoming famous for it! Check out Taphouse and the Malt Shovel Taphouse, which are among the best here.

Kawana Beach has a beach, food, culture, and shopping – an excellent combination, giving you the best that the Sunshine Coast has to offer.
