The town is one of the Sunshine Coast’s most historic destinations and is also considered the gateway to the Blackall Range. The town saw significant growth starting in 1868, mainly when the Cobb and Co. coaches spurred the growth and took people to the gold in Gympie, which was found in 1867 by James Nash.
