Clarke Place Park is a renovated outdoor play area in Caloundra.

Truly one of the best places to spend a picnic or take the kids for a day of outdoor activity, this is a must-visit while in town.

What makes this place unique is that it has a clean, grassy area that’s right by the sea. When visiting this park, you have the best of both worlds; go for a run or play with the kids in the grass, then head off to the sparkling clear waters to cool down and swim. However, remember that the waves can be rough at times and the beach isn’t patrolled. There are facilities such as toilets, shelters, and BBQs.

Clarke Place Park is dog-friendly too – a fun wholesome place that the whole family will love. You can even visit on your own to unwind and take in the cool ocean breeze or read a book with a cup of coffee. It has become a popular choice for outdoor weddings and events too, as it can be booked as a whole. After all, it makes up part of Bulcock Beach, a famous venue for weddings and gatherings.

Spend time exploring the boardwalk, too; from here, you can get the best views of the coast’s sparkling waters. Once you cross the road, you can enjoy the strip of lovely cafes and restaurants to enjoy some coffee, fish and chips, and other delicious food and snacks. Bulcock Beach itself is only patrolled from September through May.

Avid surfers will appreciate the surf breaks found here too. It’s no surprise this area is well-loved by people who prioritise staying active; there are always many options, including Happy Valley, which is nearby and great for throwing a frisbee or outdoor sports.

Clarke Place Park and its surroundings are an excellent option for a day outdoors.
