The area has a rich history, as it was once occupied by the Toombra clan from the Undabi tribe. From the 1880s, Europeans arrived and began occupying the land. It wasn’t until the 1950s that urbanisation and modern development slowly began; infrastructure was soon built. These included the David Low Way, David Low Bridge, and the Maroochy Airport. Meanwhile, the government saw the potential for tourism in the coastal areas.

Today, Pacific Paradise offers visitors a relaxing getaway destination for visitors. Fishing is a popular activity around the Maroochy River, so head over to the Cod Hole for some legendary catches while in town. The Cod Hole is famous for reliable fishing throughout the year, no matter the time of day, the weather, or the tide. Some of the abundant fish here include big jew, trevally bream, and of course, cod.

There are supermarkets, shops, accommodation, salons, and more for everything you need in town. Afterwards, check out the nearby Mudjimba Beach, with a stunning pristine coastline that’s only a stone’s throw away. Boasting fine, golden sand, this beach is still considered a hidden gem, ideal for travellers looking for a tranquil destination far from the crowds. The beach is patrolled every day but keep in mind that the safest swimming spot is between the flags along with the watchtower of the Mudjimba Surf Club since there is still a risk of strong currents and rips.

If you are visiting Maroochydore with kids, you can also take them to the excellent playground by the Mudjimba Surf Club. It features a beautiful grassy area with lots of shade, picnic tables, and covered BBQs perfect for long lunches.

Pacific Paradise and its surroundings make an excellent destination for family holidays. Be sure to check out the range of accommodation options within the area, including a wide range of holiday houses, caravan parks, hotels, motels, resorts, and apartments.
