Currimundi

The township of Currimundi is a popular residential suburb located just 5kms north of Caloundra on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

Located close to many scenic spots on the Sunshine Coast, Currimundi has plenty of things for visitors to see and do during their stay.

Currimundi is best known for its pristine lakes and beautiful clean beaches. The township’s lakeshore is connected to an extensive and scenic stretch of surf beach which offers a myriad of activities for visitors of all ages.

Many people go canoeing in the lake, and both adults and kids can enjoy this safe and sheltered 6km paddle ride bordered by bushland. The lake-front creeks also provide a favourable haven for birds and wildlife species, so keep your eyes peeled as you are likely to spot a range of local wildlife around the lake.

The main entrance to the park is found at the end of Coongarra Esplanade, which is on the northern shore of the Currimundi Lake, approximately 4 kilometres north of Caloundra. Visitors come to Currimundi Lake to kayak, watch birds, take long bushwalks and study nature.
Take a walk through the park on one of the many fire management trails that provide walkers access through this small reserve.
