Sunshine Beach

Sunshine Beach is one of the most famous surf beaches in Australia.

Behind it is the vibrant coastal village of the same name, renowned for sunny days and a relaxed tropical atmosphere in a stunning location.

Boasting white sand and glistening blue waters, the beach is truly inviting, especially on a warm day. It’s patrolled all year round for peace of mind too. If surfing isn’t your cup of tea, bring a picnic blanket and soak up the sun with a good book.

The beach is near many lovely and convenient amenities. You can book some seaside accommodation and walk to the beach every day, or bring your dog along for a fun afternoon off-leash. From June through October, there are great chances of witnessing humpback whales as they migrate.

Get your heart pumping by walking up the Sunshine Beach stairs located on the northern end, after which you will be rewarded with breathtaking clifftop views of the Coral Sea and the Noosa National Park headland. In addition, there are several rainforest and forest trails to discover, so bring along some comfortable shoes, and you might even get to meet a koala or two.

The coffee and dining scene here is well worth writing home about too. After all the sun and activity have built up an appetite, head over to the Sunshine Beach Surf Club for a sumptuous lunch and refreshments, accompanied by the best views of the coast. There are also lots of other world-class restaurants and charming cafes to visit here, more than enough to leave you satisfied for a few days of holiday.

Head over to Duke Street for fantastic shopping. Whether it’s new surfwear, gifts, beach fashion, or homewares that you need, they’ve got it. There are yoga and Pilates studios, a design studio, and a bottle shop too.

Sunshine Beach has everything for a memorable beachside holiday.
