The land where the park is located was donated in 1919 and 1922 by Arthur Bennett. On its formal entrance are concrete posts and metal gates inscribed with LPMP, which stands for the Landsborough Peace Memorial Park. It was commissioned to respond to the suffering and loss felt by the community during World War I.

Peace Memorial Park is a historical destination that makes for a good family trip. The surroundings and amenities are well-kept, so it’s a good destination for a day out. It also features sports facilities, including a sports oval and tennis court, while there is a kids’ playground in the Western area.

Another great playground is Pioneer Park, which has won awards for its thoughtful design, mainly catering to children with active lifestyles and kids with special needs. Don’t miss out on these great parks while visiting town; your kids are sure to love them all.

Landsborough is home to many parks and tourist destinations that are also worth visiting. This small town, located just 5 minutes away from the world-famous Australia Zoo founded by Steve Irwin, has numerous charming shops, a museum, and a popular local pub.

It was initially named Mellum Creek; its primary industry was timber. Landsborough is also recognised as the gateway to the Blackall Range. Near the town is the Ewen Maddock Dam, which is a beautiful spot to take the family. There are picnic areas and walking trails, after which you can cool off in the natural pools.

Peace Memorial Park is one of many tranquil yet beautiful destinations to explore with your loved ones in and around Landsborough.
