Kilkivan Shire Museum

This extensive museum features a comprehensive display of mining-related exhibits and artefacts. Both science and history lovers will love this unique museum venue as it features many varieties of mineral samples and metals.

The museum is home to many photographs, forestry machinery, dairy industry equipment, and geological displays. The main building features an old-style parlour, bedroom, general store and barber’s shop, transporting visitors back in time.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to visit a historical schoolroom and kitchen with a shed containing a buggy and wagon used extensively in this industry.

There is also a visitors centre on-site in front of the main building to gather more information about the museum and the surrounding Sunshine Coast region. The museum also welcomes enthusiastic researchers and scientists to take part in the museum research programs.
