The Sunshine Coast Stadium is easily the most iconic venue in the Kawana Sports Precinct. With the ability to fit as many as 12,000 people for live sports and up to 20,000 people for live entertainment, it’s one of the biggest in the area. Other amenities include grandstand seating for up to 1,050 and 2,000 temporary seats, seven rectangular and fully-lit fields, international broadcast-quality visuals, PA system, corporate function areas, in-house catering, a canteen, state-of-the-art commercial kitchen, spectator toilets, and a fully-enclosed, air-conditioned ticketing office.
There is also a high-performance training facility comprised of a multi-functional gym that has been designed to cater to the fitness needs of national and international athletes. Its amenities include benches, squat racks, Olympic barbells, a range of dumbbells, wrestling mats, spin cycles, rowing machines, water rowers, cable machines, squat bar, and many others.
The Western Fields feature three football-sized fields, one warm-up field, a clubhouse, change rooms, referees’ room, function space, and a canteen. Meanwhile, Lake Kawana is a 2-kilometre long waterway where many outdoor watersports events take place. These include dragon boat races, triathlons, stand-up paddleboarding, outrigging, and water swimming.
