Along the way, you’ll see a few rock pools that are shallow enough for small kids to swim and splash in. The further down you go, the larger the pools get until finally, you reach the falls to the biggest one of them all.

Picturesque native forests and grassy banks surround Gardners Falls. The areas around it are perfect for an afternoon picnic or even a little nap after a swim as you enjoy the cool breeze under the trees. This area isn’t just great for picnics, but it’s also become a popular venue for outdoor wedding photoshoots.

When visiting, make sure to bring your swimwear and wear comfortable walking shoes. Bring your own snacks and refreshments as well. The walk is suitable for bigger kids but maybe a little difficult for toddlers because of the walk involved and the fact that there are no facilities within the park. The nearest public toilets are located in the Maleny township, from where you can also purchase supplies. Don’t miss out on visiting Spicers Tamarind Retreat, a charming destination nearby that features a restaurant, cooking school, and spa.

Near the falls, many other points of interest are worth checking out, especially within Maleny. This quaint town is famous for its hippie culture. Try not to miss out on visiting during Australia Day. This is when the fantastic Bunya Dreaming Festival takes place; the festival commemorates the loss of the sacred Bunya trees and celebrates the Bunya harvest.

While here, other activities you can do include camping, bird watching, nature photography, and swimming in the many holes nearby.

Gardners Falls is a stunning location that should not be missed while in Maleny.
