Cilento Park

Cilento Park is a gorgeous bushland conservation area equipped with a kids’ playground.

Excellent for outdoor activities, this park is a must-visit for families, especially those with children.

In 1952, the park was donated by renowned doctors Sir Ralph and Dame Phyllis Cilento. They came from prominent families hailing from Mooloolaba and were parents to a famous Australian theatre actress Diane Cilento.

The Cilento Park playground features swings, slides, climbing equipment, picnic tables, a public BBQ, a gazebo, seating, and a water tap. A public toilet can be found nearby.

For jogging, running, or brisk walking exercise, the paved 500-metre track circuit is ideal. It can be accessed from any side of the park, and it will lead you to a waterfall with a swimming hole.

The park is a haven right amid suburbia and one that’s safe for taking the kids to. Walk from the car park, and you’re already there. It’s a reasonably easy walk too, ideal for visitors of all ages. The trail entrance is located right behind the picnic tables, and from here, you will be guided to the short bush track—practice caution when approaching the falls, as they can be pretty slippery, especially after the rains.

While in Nambour, there are many other excellent sights to visit and things to do. If you’d like to discover other parks, Petrie Park and Koala Park are highly recommended. Check out the Nambour Civic Centre, which hosts several events and performances throughout the year.

For your shopping needs, Nambour Plaza has a wide range of retail shops. It includes a Woolworths, Jay Jay’s, Big W, a health store, surf shop, butcher, bargain books, and a few groceries.

Cilento Park and the many attractions within Nambour make it a wonderful place to visit with the whole family.
