The best time to visit is from July to November because this is when you’ll have the highest chances of witnessing migrating whales. It also serves as a home to turtles and dolphins; if you’re lucky enough to spot them, it will be one of the major highlights of your trip.

Aside from marine animals, various birds can be seen here, including sea eagles and osprey; it’s not uncommon to see them dipping into the ocean to catch some fish.

Hell’s Gates has designated viewpoints from where it’s ideal for taking it all in. If you’d like to get some exercise, head along the scenic coastal walk track here. The walk is suitable for all ages, though there are some steep troughs. Begin the walk at the Noosa Heads Main Beach, from where you can buy a coffee from one of the charming cafes before you get to the Noosa National Park.

The start of the walk will take you through the main beach, then the headland and the boardwalk.

Bring along your swimsuit so that you can take a refreshing dip in the many beach access points you’ll come across at the Little Cove, Boiling Pot, and Tea Tree. Walk around the Noosa National Park, and take photos with the beautiful tea trees, eucalypt canopy, and palms. You might even get to spot a koala while you’re here.

The walk to Hell’s Gates takes around an hour, and you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of the coast. The incredible coastal views, nature, and wildlife make it the ideal destination for outdoor lovers.
