Caloundra Tourist Attractions – Things to See & Do on the Sunshine Coast

Caloundra has sheltered waterways that are best for water-skiing, fishing and boating, and has amazing beaches that are perfect for surfing. As a gateway town to the hinterlands, you can also take a short drive and explore the many art galleries and amazing views of the Glass House Mountains.

You can take part in a coastal walk which starts from Golden Beach and ends in Mooloolaba. Go on a cruise and see amazing views of Caloundra Heads, Bribie Island and Moreton Island. You can also take an eco-cruise and visit the Pumicestone Passage to see its diverse marine life; or spend a relaxing afternoon at the Currimundi Lake Conservation Park and enjoy the different bird, animal and plant varieties.

Visitors looking for history can visit the city’s oldest structure, the Lighthouse in Canberra Terrace, or they can take a tour of the Caloundra Coastal Path which passes through historic sites, amongst them, a military jetty used in World War II. The walk also passes through Point Cartwright Reserve, Happy Valley to Kings Beach, Moffat Headland, Golden Beach, Dicky Beach and Currimundi.
