The Big Pineapple is a popular tourist attraction on Australia’s Sunshine Coast. As one of the best known and loved attractions, the Big Pineapple has operated since 1971 and draws thousands of visitors each year.
The Big Pineapple Market was launched in 2011 and is open every Saturday from 6am until 2pm. Varieties of local produce are readily available including fruit, vegetables, eggs, seafood, meat and chicken.

The Big Pineapple also hosts a Bubs & Kids Market which is held (in addition to the farmers market) every second Saturday of the month. Here you can find a huge range of second hand children’s clothes, shoes and toys. There is also a car boot market which is held on the last Saturday of the month where you can find a range of second-hand goods.
There are so many things to see and do at the Big Pineapple, with recent renovations adding even more attractions including a boutique zoo that houses native and exotic animals.
Hop on the Pineapple Train which departs every half hour, and enjoy trip around the Big Pineapple which explores the rainforest, orchids, bamboo forest and passes by the onsite zoo. Get off at Koala Station if you want to visit the zoo where you will see alligators, kangaroos, dingoes, koalas, sun bears, lemurs, wombats as well as a large range of reptiles and birds.
The Big Pineapple also holds a range of events all throughout the year, including the Big Pineapple Music Festival which runs for 2 days and has a huge line-up of local music. There are also a range of summer outdoor movie festivals and exhibitions aimed at families.
